Chronographs

Chronographs are devices recording/ time keeping tools which are used to record intervals or spaces of time. So they are timepieces or watches that have both timekeeping and stopwatch functions available. A basic chronograph has an independent sweep second hand; it can be started, stopped, and returned to zero by successive pressure on the stem. The best-known chronographs are made in Switzerland. They have been popular for centuries due to their robustness, precision, styles, designs, functions, and value for money.

Chronograph display
Chronographs  have a display, which is analogue, digital or mixed.
• Analog chronographs are capable of showing both their time and stopwatch functions, which can be done with analog hands. In analogue chronographs the centre key dial shows the time keeping functions while the three sub-dials in general show the stopwatch function.
• Digital chronograph, the digital display is used for both the timekeeping and stopwatch features. These chronographs can either supply separate displays or they can possess a mechanism to switch between the two modes over a single digital display.
• An analog-digital chronograph is designed as normal analog watches with a separate screen that is digital. The digital screen location will typically run independently for this chronograph’s analog section.
